We were just lucky to be there that night for this particular event because it only happens once a month...I know...serendipitous! After a really funny hour of improv we waited around for the stand up to start and signed a sheet stating that we would like to try our hand at being funny. The first few guys that went were really not funny at all but things changed about halfway....when I the first female to ever do stand up for this club...they have been around a long time..got up and preceded to let loose. It was awesome! after my whole 3 minutes of some new material I sat down and this guy the MC a*see lower picture*
Was like "call me"! Andrea was really excited and telling me in my ear "that was a compliment! that was a compliment!" I just twirled my hair and giggled like any mature woman would do. Background on hottie...From Miami, very funny, plays baseball for BYU and did I mention cute? I got my flirt on afterwards like nobody's business! He got my number....and Andrea's too so he can contact us for further stand up opportunities. :) I am thinking he wanted Andrea most, she really was amazing!
Andrea was next! She did wonderful! Got the most laughs out of anybody! I am so happy we have reconnected~
I was able to do my stand up with out my crutch of the notes...although three minutes is really not that long, but when you are standing in front of strangers and bright lights it can be a little distracting. Our real show is on the 27th at 1030 pm in SLC, it will be paid and it's an after party I am not sure if friends can come yet I will straighten that stuff out later. I'm sorry for the last minute call to friends last night but I realized that I could use a support group, even though no one showed up I was glad that I could make new friends and be comfortable in a situation where no one knows me and I can still make them laugh!
so happy for you! i'm very excited you'll be getting back into stand-up... though i may never be able to see your show. but, hey, who knows... maybe you'll become a famous comedienne and THEN i can finally see your stand-up!
