Tour of KSL Newsroom and Deseret News

Oh the perks of working with a fabulous team and learning the trade of news reporting. We had a day of training where we went to KSL and listened in on their news pitch and reporting stuffs. Not much about photography but I still learned a lot.

KSL

Party elevator.
 Lunch time

We headed after lunch to Deseret news and sat in on their pitch meeting as well which was FASCINATING. I loved hearing the ideas for stories bounce back and forth.

After Deseret News we went to the huge printing factory/lab and took a tour. We were pretty impressed with the amount of paper they use on a weekly basis. What you see here is actually overflow!

This robot mans itself up and down these corridors and takes paper to the printers. Some of us where tripping out over the sheer fact that we were looking at a robot.

This is the ink. THE INK! Watertowers of flippin ink. Cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Pretty rad.

It was a thursday so there wasn't many people around, which was kinda fun.

Can you spot me!?

Distribution

uh oh.

I am so in love with everyone I work with, this is such an awesome experience even this far. And it's going to get better, we have a couple of trips and "mandatory" retreats. I also start work on the utah local artists and artisans section I'm writing, I'm starting with Jennie the truffle lady.
