Zion's- Our First Day

Andrew and I needed to get away even just for a couple of days. AJ will be starting work on Monday as I will too. We both are dreading our significant lack of freedom for the next couple of months but we are incredibly blessed to both have jobs, and the means for our little trip!

We stayed in Hurricane UT which is just outside the park instead of staying in town, and saved 100.00 doing that. Andrew doesn't like camping and if I'm going to get him to hike with me he has to have a comfy bed and internet to return to, seems like a fair deal to me! Though I would prefer to camp in Zion's, we did have a HUGE bathtub which we took full advantage of.

Our first day consisted of shopping around the little town of Springdale and heading out to the Coral Pink Sands State Park 45 minutes outside of Zion's.

My darling surprised me with a geode.... Which is actually super sweet because I do love geology! He picked it out and had them cut it for us :)

They look like this before they're cut.

HAHA I loved this guys face.
 ooooh Purdy

We drove around a bit after lunch at oscars (expensive and fancy, we like Blondies better but they were closed)

We decided to head to the hotel and check in, the light was super harsh and I knew what I wanted when we went to the Pink Sands. So we had a few hours to kill....why not take a bath!  UGH. Those mirrors were unsightly, hideous things. But look at all those bubbles!

After bath-time, we headed through Zion's and Andrew got to experience the Carmel Mountain Tunnel, which is rad. I was driving though and didn't take many pictures, except when I couldn't resist any longer and pulled over.

I've discovered how amazing polarized lenses are, I barely had to edit this one.

Up next the Sand Dunes!
