One Whole Year

1 year ago we were driving to the San Diego Temple at 8 in the morning to get sealed. I remember sitting in the back seat with Andrew, Kirsten and John in the front. I remember the sun shining on my face as I laid my head on Andrew's shoulder and thought about what the day would be like. I was excited and scared of course but I knew that this is what God had planned for me and I needed to go through with it. Kirsten and John were bantering back and forth about something, Andrew was trying to join in, and I was really, really nervous.

The Temple was GORGEOUS, it was a perfect day, sunny and warm. Kirsten helped me so much (she had just married Scott a few months earlier) she even offered me a get away car if I needed it. I don't think would have made it through that day with out her. I don't think she knows how much I needed it, but she did more for me than just accompany me through the process.

Our day went by fast with tears, smiles, and snapshots, then lunch, more pictures, a bubble machine. Then it came time for us to go on our honeymoon! That was fun, our first real trip together and we could even sleep in the same bed now, even though we didn't sleep much.

Oh that day! What a wonderful day.

Marriage isn't easy, we have had our moments of breakdowns, despair, fights, and passion. We are best friends, lovers, and companions. I never thought I would marry Andrew, but it turned out to be the best decision we have ever made together with God's help. I'm so happy I have someone like Andrew to be with me all my life, my sweet boy.

Happy Anniversary honey!

I love you.

  2. Laura, happy anniversary. I actually left a comment on this a while ago, or thought I did, but somehow it isn't here. I love you Laura. You were so beautiful that day, your vulnerability, your dress, your trust in Andrew and in The Lord. It was such an honor to be part of your wedding. I'm so glad you are my sister. Great to see you on Christmas. Hope your next semester goes well and then we will see each other again.
