My forever favorite camera the Pentax K1000 broke on me shortly after getting married and I was devastated. First the film winder went then after having to roll the film by hand in the dark the whole thing went kaput and I couldn't even open it again. I was so sad but shortly after, I got my digital camera. But I've been missing my cute little Pentax and film in general. I love having to think about a shot before I take it and no chimping allowed with film!
I come home one day late from work and Andrew had a little surprise for me waiting- on a funny side note I've been really wanting a new camera bag-something like this-actually I really love this designer and wont settle for anything but her- Darby Mack:
So when I opened the bag I see a really old looking camera bag and I kind of flipped out a little saying that my DLSR wont even fit in there! Then upon opening it more I see this:
Needless to say I started to cry! Andrew just laughed at me and said he felt that he needed to go to a particular thrift store and found it for only 15 BUCKS! I paid 100.00 for my pentax online. It's in great condition and I only needed to replace the battery for the light meter.
Also- there was a full roll of film!! I had it developed and this is what I got-
The year is Christmas 2004 in Todd KY- I know this because of hints I found in the pictures, not unlike a treasure hunt for sure.
I love my husband, I'm so lucky he knows me so well!
aw...how sweet! and those photos of the mystery family are pretty great. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are SO interesting! I love the kid's MegaMan shirt!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of the unknown roll of film is the two adults opening club crackers! I'm guessing there had to be some kind of back story to those. love it!
