Starting from scratch, I have yet again started a garden in our backyard, I'm so happy my roommates let me do whatever! Because I've pretty much dug up the entire yard, planting random things from strawberries to lavender and lemon grasses, and various flowers in random spots in the yard as well as a circular onion patch! My plan is to have a whimsical walking path around everything, it won't make sense but will be beautiful, just like me!
I love working the ground and growing things. I love the warm light of early spring sunsets, with promises of even warmer ones. I hate the dirt under my nails but love the feeling of sore muscles the next day. I can feed myself fresh veggies through most of the summer, I have splinters from the shovel, and cuticles that would make any city woman cringe.
Earth and I are one for a few hours each week, I make time for her in my busy schedule. It's important to me to know that I can still grow beautiful things outside as well as inside my own soul. The garden is inspiring, fulfilling, healthy, understanding, strong, independent and will always be there for me in some way, I will always be able to grow something, no matter where I'm living
The red bars are from an old bed frame, I'm using them as a trellis for my peas
Buckets! Two of these are saved for fresh herbs and the other two are for my friends Raquel and Oliver. I want to paint them fun colors like orange and red and blue and purple!
Emerson likes to hang with me in the garden, he wanders around the yard sniffing things and eventually has a lie down and watches/stalks the birds.
I love these blossoms!
I've started lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, and cukes. The rest I'll get in may from Cook's.
Cute lil' lettuces!
Our chime, I love this thing.
Love it! Do you want to come help me with my yard?
