One of my favorite places...

I love to hang out with my good friends Rob and J'ness in Salt Lake, we always have a blast going to movies or out to dinner then to Hatch's chocolate shop. It is nice to get out of Provo for awhile and be in a diverse area. They live a couple of blocks from the Capitol building in a quaint but packed neighborhood, there are hills on every block and rubbled stairs leading to unused and overgrown lots. I love this place mostly in the Summer/Fall but Winter isn't half bad if there is no ice, those hills can be killer!

We went to the pie, a great pizza joint up by the U, the walls are covered with graffiti and the place is underground and dark, as well as packed with funky people to watch.  We got a pie with half veggies for  J'ness and I, Canadian bacon for Rob it was delish!

Just random art everywhere...LOVE IT!

I thought this was cool at first then while editing I realized it said ROB hearts Laura....awkward.

Everybody looks like this when ordering

The next morning I went for a walk around the neighborhood and realized my camera was almost out of batteries! I got what I could the rest of the day, which wasn't much.

The capitol building is huge and deserted on Saturdays. I ran to the top and had a rocky moment I suggest you all do it in your life time because it feels good, even if it is only 30 steps or so DO IT!

My favorite yard decor yet! Oh Sasquatch..

I went to Moochies for lunch, J'ness works there and it is a local favorite. It has even been featured in Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I met up with Rob and his Father in law (he was a hoot!) and I got a Philly cheese steak it had the most veggies and was the most famous so I was OK with the meat. It was really good and sat in my stomach for the rest of the day like a brick. I wish I could provide pictures, but the camera was in a coma until I could get some more batteries.
I had a great time and I was able to reflect and figure stuff out, mainly with school, sicknesses, relationships and death. It's amazing how a little time out, laughter, friends and chocolate can fix life problems.

And in poverty and in other misfortunes men think friends are the only refuge....for with friends men are able to both think and to act. ~Aristotle

  1. Aw Laura! :) And don't worry Rob does hear Laura...just not in THAT sense. ;-) It was awesome, as ever, to hang out and play. And maybe one day I'll forgive you for tipping my chair over. ;-)
