Well this week Andrew and I have not only been ridiculously busy with school but we've been getting our food storage started. In our church they often talk about food storage and being prepared for natural disasters, financial stresses, or in my case the apocalypse, it does after all fall on our 1 year anniversary 12-21-12! Happy anniversary honey! Any way our pantry is stocked with everything you can imagine and I'm too lazy to post a picture of it. Plus it's kind of embarrassing how much candy we have, Andrew goes through lots of candy.
As I mentioned before I had shot a wedding on Saturday and to be completely honest, it was really stressful. But I needed to do it and I did learn loads.
Things I learned:
If you're the main photographer make sure you're the only one taking the shot at that moment, there where some really cute shots of kiddos and bride that where messed up because half of the kids where looking at the photographer behind me taking the same shot, I had asked her not to do this in the beginning but hey we're all learning here :)
Be assertive, but not so assertive that people get upset with you and misunderstand what you're trying to say. This was a big thing that happened at the reception and how I made the Bride cry, there where too many strong personalities (mine in the middle) and high emotions. We all wanted to make the wedding perfect for the bride but sometimes tempers run high. So note to self: Be assertive with sugar on top.
Make sure bride gives you an itinerary before hand- boy that would have been helpful!
Don't take 2700 pictures, I had so many duplicates! It's like I have led finger and just flooring it all the time.
Drink water, more water.
Eat, after 12 hours of shooting I had only lunch and a cupcake.
I don't think I'm cut out for wedding photography right now. If I do another wedding I'm charging big bucks. People treat you like crap, even when you're doing them a favor, and I'm so sensitive I cried about the whole damn thing all day Sunday. (The bride and her family were amazing, it was extended family and friends that were on the rude side)
You can see the wedding preview at Loupeylalo I'll post more in a week.
So- Back to life:
I just ordered this book: Farm Anatomy, The Curious Parts & Pieces of Country Life
Book Images where stolen from this blog
I had gotten the idea from one of my favorite blogs Under the Sycamores, she had mentioned that she had gotten this book, and posted a pic, then I was hooked. I knew this was also a book that I would come to love and share with our kiddos, I already like the info and the colors!! I may even order more for friends like Raquel and Skoticus, everyone who likes farming should have a book like this.
Our sweet kitties! They do this every evening, they huddle up in the one strip of sunlight we have and take a snooze.
I shot the Men's Soccer team for the UVU review (my first time) I was super stoked to see my good friend Shad! I didn't know he played for the team....I love soccer boys!
Run Shad run!
The sunset last night was GORGEOUS!
I bet shooting a wedding is super stressful - everyone has their opinions, everyone is stressed/happy/more stressed. I know I felt for our photographer when everyone was asking her for different shots. Sheesh - let the woman work! Way to finish it up - and the pictures on your other blog are beautiful. Way to go!
