I finally got my custom made Darby Mack camera bag, I know what you are thinking "why didn't you make your own?" because I don't have cool fabric, a proper sewing machine, or the know how to make something this extravagant. I was looking at the pattern and I have to say it was money well spent, the bag is durable, beautiful and VERY practical. I can remove the insert and use the bag as a messenger bag if I needed. Plus I really just love all the details, and there aren't many cute and cool camera bags out there for women.

My other camera bag that I made is now being used for my film cameras :)
Little Olive is at the vet getting spayed today, she's all growed up!
And for the big news:
I've gotten a place at the UVU review (the newspaper duh) shooting for them during the week at different events around the valley and on campus. It's not a paid position but it has potential. If I log in so many hours I will get 25% of my education paid for. If I move up ( which is likely if I stick around) and get a part time position 75% of tuition will be paid, and if I'm full time I'll get full ride. Also the hours I log are part of my internship because I'll be a published photographer.
I really think this is super good for me to launch off of, at first I thought I wanted to be a wedding/engagement photographer around the valley but now I realize that's something I'll probably be doing as a student. Once I graduate I hope to maybe get into commercial shooting, fine art, journalism or whatever else tickles my fancy!
Congrats! That sounds like an awesome position for you! And that bag is adorable. I want a camera just so I can buy a bag :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! The position sounds great and like you could really build a resume there. What a great thing for you to get into. You'll do awesome! And that bag is adorable. I want to use it as a purse.
ReplyDeleteYup, I'm so happy for you! Go, Laura, Go! And I agree the bag is worth the money. Good fabric, well made, and interchangeable for other things - I'm sure it will be one you carry around for years.
