Pie and Picutres

Today I made dinner for the Carr's kind of like a farewell type thing. I told Pappa Carr today that I was moving out on the 30th of this month. Though I will miss living with the Carr's I really need a change and it's apparent by my bubbly self that it's a good thing. I will be moving a few blocks away into a big house with cool girls, all the walls of the house range in colors,we have a big sun-room (I can start plants way early!) and tons of free garden space and a yard that needs to be landscaped (I'm already thinking of where to plant things, flowers, vegetables etc.). I'm going to splurge at IKEA asap, I get my own room, I can keep my rat Trixie, rent is cheap and I have a few friends in the ward already. PLUS my ward was all gaga over me today because I was leaving, that made meh feel sew goood!

Sometimes I write crazy notes to boys to freak them out. One boy in particular I love to tease, tonights note read :

Travis,
The light from the sun takes 8 seconds to reach earth and filters through atmospheric dust just to flash across your face in the morning, I'm jealous of the sun.
-Laura

SO FUNNY!

With tonights dinner, I baked chicken breast with seasonings ( I can't remember what I put on), roasted red potatoes and peas.

I also made a triple berry pie with berries picked over the summer and leftover cranberries from thanksgiving. I envisioned the pie looking like Ned's on "Pushing Daisies"

It didn't look like that at all.

But I invented a pie crust (sort of)

Pie Crust:

1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
a few tablespoons of cold water

It was flaky and sweet.

Filling:

1 cup blackberries
1cup raspberries
1/2 cup cranberries (because they're super tart less is more)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour (thickener)

The pie was tart and thick, with a dab of whipped cream I had the whole family including Summer's fiancée showering me with compliments.

Today was a good self esteem day.

These next pictures are of University street here in Provo one night. I had fun with the shutter speed and traffic lights. I'm still on a waitlist for my Photography class next semester, but I am pretty sure I will be able to squeeze in. SO EXCITED!
