Recycling a vintage bag into a cute camera bag!

I found this bag in Kingman at St. Vincents with Amy a few weeks ago and I fell in love! But I couldn't use it as a purse because it didn't have pockets and I like my purses long and big. So I decided to make it into a camera bag using the inserts from my other bag that was boring and falling apart anyway.

I lined the bag with some cute fabric and actually didn't do any sewing because I don't have a sewing machine right now, I used washable glue because that stuff is hard core and will seal anything. Plus I hope to have a bag like THIS someday soon. I've really been lusting after these something bad for a while now...

I'll use the little blue purse in the top picture for my memory cards and extra battery.

Any way, I'm going to put it to the test today when I visit an old friend and get some shots of her daughter!

What I've been up to since I don't have a job...

Well, mostly school work and cleaning! We leave for Tennessee around the 30 of April and there is a lot to think of before we head out. Lots of boring life things that aren't much fun to discuss on a blog! SO what we/I've been doing!

Shooting final large format project in SLC

I originally wanted to shoot a friend of a friend of an aunts sister but she was too busy and couldn't fit into my schedule. Sad day. BUT I did have a stroke of genius and decided to shoot in SLC and do something out of the ordinary architecture! WAHOO!
So I drove all the way out there to take the WHOLE day shooting, taking my time admiring the sights, smelling the air and being crafty in my favorite medium.

I was actually pretty excited about it but....

  1. The camera had issues- Major ones.
  2. Missed my chance to shoot Elder L Tom Perry he was standing behind me on the conference center roof talking to my escort, admiring the camera I assume, cause who wouldn't?! I was too busy fiddling with the darn thing.
  3. The knobs froze.
  4. I had to find a hardware store thank goodness for my smart phone!
  5. Cried on the floor of Ace Hardware surrounded by tools trying to loosen the knobs.
  6. Old man helped me but refused my hug.
  7. Finally got thing to work but then I couldn't shut it!
  8. Figured it out after crying more and praying.
  9. Stopped by a cop at the library and had to get photo permit before I could finish shooting.
  10. Finished shooting YAY.
  11. Got kicked off UTA by cops because I thought it was free. Apparently it's not.

This man was way cool! He said to me "why you no have kids?" I said "cause I just got married" the he said "oh! That's no good. A family without children is like a garden with out flowers"

*Hug*

These cops asked me if I'd been unsure if the UTA was free or not why didn't I ask them? I said" because I "thought you were crossing guards."

Ahhh. It's over, time for lunch!

Finals are over for Andrew yay! So we had a dinner party with some old friends of mine in the 189th ward.

Buffy!

The Wilson Family Dog-

This is one of the coolest dogs. She is actually at the top of my list of most lovable, being a pit bull, she gets a lot of negative attentions from people who don't understand or group all bad dogs into pit bull piles.
She slept with me most nights curled up next to me, or would wake me up with kisses, or "dog pile" me with the girls trying to get me up the first couple of days I was in Kingman. I got a few good shots of her playing with her owner Amy and as you can see, she is really happy.

 Somebody got owned!

DAS A HAPPY PUPPY!
