4 movies, 2 we paid for 1 we stole and the other was free.

Friday

Andrew and I watched movies pretty much all weekend and I loved every minute of it!

PAID>>>. Vampires Assistant: Don't ask me why I was "dying" to watch this movie but I like some of the actors in this film, John C Riley for instance  played the main Vamp and did a pretty good job to my surprise, Amy had pointed out to me before hand that she thought he seemed too goofy for a "head vamp". Salma Hayek was the bearded lady....kinda creepy and Jane Krakowski (30 rock) was a woman who could regrow limbs, there was a joke that she could give the newly sired vampire her arm to eat because she could just grow it back. The film reminded me a bit of the Goosebumps books in the aspect of kooky characters and stupid humor. It was colorful and the plot was actually pretty entertaining, there was a lot of different characters with different freaky talents and the special effects where cool. I would probably recommend this to people with kids.
Saturday

PAID>>>This movie was AWESOME! I enjoyed the total destruction of the planet, pretty much everyone died except a few but that is to be expected....a cute puppy survived! The graphics of this movie were spectacular, at one point the yellowstone super volcano was erupting and I was so breathless I literally put my hand to my chest and gasped....it looked real. The best part about this movie was the fly by humor from Jhon Cusack and other characters in the movie. It had a sweet and heroic undertone and reminding us how important our families are, one of the new trends in Hollywood is to take married couples who are having trouble and put them in scenarios where they fall in love again so no divorce! Woot... sort of what happened here. I get to write a report on the movie for my geology class and pick out disasters that aren't geologically sound, I am pretty excited for that...ahem....extra credit. Just so you know you cannot find the epicenter of an earthquake immediately from a satellite or any satellite for that matter.

STOLE>>>
So sometimes I corrupt Andrew into stealing things such as fruit, or in this case movies. I noticed there weren't enough people in this theater and it need at least two more to fully appreciate this story. It was in 3D and we didn't have any glasses but conveniently there was a box full of them right outside the theater, so I took two pairs of used ones (which we cleaned vigorously) and we watched this one right after 2012. I loved this movie! The ghosts were terrifying, Marley was the worst with his jaw all unhinged and clunky chains! The ghost of Christmas present was nasty in the end too it was a bit graphic for little kids but this story is for the older crowd in the first place. The story was pretty close to the book, I thought Jim Carey did a great job of Scrooge the movie as a whole was beautiful artistically and a fun addition to our day.

FREE: Andrew was lucky and got to miss out on this one I'm sure he would have hated it.

This movie was totally 80's.My girls had went to bed early on Sat night so all I had was ON DEMAND. This was really the most interesting film on the list. It is about a viking who doesn't like to rape and pillage so he takes a voyage to the Gods to seek a new way of life for his people. I loved this movie and I seriously want to own it! It had all the movie magic of the 80's and I love Tim Robbins he offers this weird sensative character to the film and tries to make sense out of his love for a woman he accidentally kills (in a humorous way) at the beginning. It's a cute flick I dug it.

Concern for my country

I have been really sick for the last week, I have watched more TV than I'd like to admit including a 5 hour marathon of Destination Truth on the SYFY channel. On Tuesday I watched a well done documentary on Islam. To be honest I was quite enlightened by the sheer beauty of this religion and how incredibly similar it is to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It preaches unity and all men created equal, as well as "the worth of souls are great in the sight of God" it teaches to see the beauty of the world and the love of God. A few days later the Muslim community would be slapped again when a Muslim decided to shoot up Fort Hood killing I think 13, and wounding others. My first thought upon seeing his name was "please God don't let him be a Muslim"  sure enough he was, but that doesn't define his actions. Islam is not to blame for this act, that man alone is responsible for his actions. I worry for my country because there is a lot of hate for Muslims and people from the middle east already, as with any situation, there are unforgiving people and people wanting to place blame. The quickest conclusion is to blame the religion that seems to ignite the action of killing in the name of God, I wish that won't happen, I wish that when this happens that the Muslim community didn't have to apologize for someone they didn't even know. I wish they could walk home in the dark after work and not be worried that they would be beaten or killed for their beliefs, I wish they could go to prayers without being scrutinized or attend church without security. I have Muslim friends of which I care for deeply. They are faithful and loving towards people and try to love their God the best way they know how just like the rest of us. There have been Christians who have killed in the name of God as well, but we forget those quicker it seems...remember Timothy McVey? I have met some crazy Bible thumpers who are strange and capable of doing something horrible, you get that sick feeling in your stomach like that person shouldn't be trusted?  Anyway what I am trying to say is, we shouldn't blame Islam for this terrible act, there are a lot of factors that went into this and maybe we are to blame a little? We should be loving everyone for who they are even if you don't like the person just let them be them, there is no wrong way to live, we have agency for this reason. I am thankful for the Gospel, I know that God loves me and everyone the same, we are imperfect and a beautiful people, from every country or religion.
Another concern is shootings in Orlando?! Two days later?! There is just too much to comprehend and reasonings behind decisions to act out in violence even if it was a mentally ill person. I'm tired of guns and killing. Having a couple of friends in Orlando and not wanting to overreact by calling them all wondering if they were OK, I really hate that feeling.....a gut wrenching "oh what if Rach just happened to be there that day?" We talked on facebook all is well. Any way I am seriously drugged right now so if some of this doesn't make sense it's the nasal decongestant.

Halloween!!!!

Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays, I always have ideas for costumes a month before but this year was harder because I have been super busy with classes and work. Amy *the one and only* gave me a wonderful idea to dress up as someone from Pleasantville, you know that movie where everyone is in black and white and things are always as they seem and no one grows, until Reese Witherspoon comes and shows her fake boyfriend how to um...ahem... anyway I  thought that was a grand idea so I started on finding the right attire and make up for the job. It was easier than I thought it would be! A one stop shop called Taylor Maid on Center street in Provo set me up quite nicely! I got these aqua make-up pods in black and white and a white wig and I let my creativeness begin! First I watched the movie to get skin tones which where basically grey, black and white, EASY! Then I used my favorite 1$ dress, the black one with polka dots, and made a red sash to go with it. As of Friday the 30 I was so ready! First was the work party we had been planning for 2 months, everything went off great..of course! I had fun with my clients, Halloween is the best day to be an ATEC employee! Here are some awesome pics!

Here is Mont! I think he kind of looks like a happy Hannibal Lecter.  "And then I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. ..."

My sweet boss Cheriddy, as The Other Mother!!! She made her costume! I seriously love Coraline, it's currently my favorite movie.

Mont trying to kiss me.

I love Matty! He was Micheal Jackson! He stayed in character all day. I kept playing MJ songs so he would dance haha

I love how the lack of color brings out the hideous yellow of my teeth.

OK this guy was a wrestler and this belt was legit! It had been custom made for him and spun! It was totally rad.

Ah yes the controversial pic. I had a lot of people think I had edited this photo but it was taken with my phone and I was driving a gray van that day. You can see color in the background behind me I wouldn't lie!

On Halloween morning I helped with a 5k some friends were hosting for VIDA, It was early and freezing! I was stationed at a street corner to direct runners where to go and I was really cold. So I decided to dance like crazy to my IPOD I looked like an Idiot but I was warm! I made people smile as they passed by. I really had no shame I shook everything my momma gave me and then some! James Brown is awesome. Here are some cool pics I took that day.

They were all in costume! haha

U fans and Thing 2 or 3

Some skated!

Pretty Frost on the back of a car just as the sun was rising. It was steam with in 5 minutes

I went to Liann's party and another party Halloween night but I had a client with me and she wasn't into it to much so I didn't any good pics because we were at both places for about an hour! Sad day. She ended up throwing up, those who know me best know that I am really afraid of VOM, so it pretty much ruined my night.I still had a good Halloween, just not Halloween night.

OK I am now going to work on my research paper!
